Darsha Assant was a human, female Jedi Knight during the time of the Old Republic, shortly after the Battle of Naboo. Originally from Alderaan where she was orphaned at the age of four, Darsha was discovered by Twi'lek Jedi Master, Anoon Bondara and taken to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. There, Darsha learned the ways of the Jedi and was eventually apprenticed to the Jedi that found her, Bondara himself. An adept student, Darsha worked hard to live up to her Master's expectations, as he was well respected for being perhaps the most proficient lightsaber fighter in the Jedi Order. As Darsha neared the end of her training, she was given a final task by the Jedi Council to complete on her own.

The task was to descend into the Crimson Corridor level of Coruscant, a section infamously dangerous due to gangs and other criminal activity, and retrieve Oolth the Fondorian, a member of the criminal organization Black Sun, to bring back for questioning. Little did Darsha know, the Jedi Council, or her Master know that this simple mission would thrust Darsha into the beginning efforts of the Sith Order's evil plans for galactic domination. With final words from her Master, Darsha took a small transport into the dangerous undercity of Coruscant. Darsha manages to locate Oolth, but soon came into contact with a dangerous gang known as the Raptors.

Fighting through their assault, Darsha managed to escape the gang members, but disabled her ship in the process. Attempting to climb back up to safer levels of Coruscant with Oolth in tow, Darsha and the Fondorian soon were attacked by vicious hawkbats and unfortunately Oolth fell several levels to his death. Returning to Coruscant disheartened that she failed her mission, Darsha met with Master Bondara and recounted the course of events. Bondara, wishing only the best for his Padawan, decided that they would return to the Crimson Corridor together in hopes of the chance that Oolth survived. Also, Master Bondara decided not to inform the Council of the events until the fate of Oolth could be determined for sure.
